This heritage conservation home needed renovations to create more usable storage space. With this project, we wanted to restore its unique heritage features while providing innovative solutions for the requested task.

Due to heritage home guidelines requiring the preservation of the facade, we were not able to address this feature for renovation. However, we were able to utilise the rear of the property to meet their goal.

By adding a post-tension concrete slab to the back of the home, we were able to reduce the need for steel columns in the carport. This allowed us to open up that space to better accommodate storage needs.

For the finalised product, Stanuga Built painted and replaced the timber in the facade’s double-hung windows to help revitalise the exterior of the home. With our architectural expertise, we were able to create and add additional features to the rear such as timber cladding, recycled brickwork, a steel balustrade and tiles, to seamlessly incorporate the changes into the alfresco terrace.

These changes created new architectural features that complemented the original home.
