This much-loved family home was in need of a structural renovation and refurbishment to allow the family to grow with it. The clients loved the area and wanted to create a modern masterpiece home that better suited their lifestyle and incorporated passive house systems that would provide thermal comfort all year round and prove to be cost effective in the long term.

The overall scope was to renovate the existing ground floor and add a first floor addition to accommodate their growing family. The footprint of the home remained the same, however the internal layout was changed to better suit the clients’ needs. The void above the kitchen and dining with the double glazed highlight windows allows an abundance of natural light through the ground floor of the home and is a focal point when walking through the space. Externally, the oversized double glazed windows and sliding doors created a striking contrast to the ascending roof line and the stonework at the front entry and garage surround added an interesting textural feature.
